Shoprite and Checkers have joined forces with SABC2’s Hectic Nine-9 AWEHness initiative in a bid to keep feet warm this winter.
With many winter charity drives focusing on blanket collections over the winter months, Hectic Nine-9 and national supermarket chains, Shoprite and Checkers, have decided to address a different need by collecting as many new pairs of socks and/or shoes as possible over the next two months.
Members of the public are encouraged to open their hearts and help families in need, by donating new socks and shoes of all sizes to this worthy cause. Donations can be placed in the winter collection SOS (socks or shoes) Trolleys that will be made available in Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper supermarkets nationwide. The SOS Trolleys are located at the entrance of the stores.
All new socks and shoes donated will be distributed by Shoprite and Checkers to less fortunate organizations and communities after the campaign ends on Friday, 3 August 2012.
