A new Shoprite store opened its doors in Entebbe’s Victoria Mall to much fanfare and celebration.
The opening of Shoprite Victoria Mall creates 71 new jobs. It also brings the total number of Ugandans employed by the retailer to 423, of which close to 54% are women.

The opening of the 2800 square meter store also coincides with a donation of groceries and fresh produce to the Entebbe Children’s Welfare for Special Needs.

There are three Shoprite stores in Kampala, at Clock Tower, Lugogo and Acacia Malls.
“We’ve been in Uganda since 2000 and growth has been steady. Our strategy is to expand as opportunities present themselves to us.”
