The Shoprite Group opened its 30th standalone Petshop Science store in the Western Cape at the Melkhout Centre in Hout Bay.
Petshop Science offer premium pet food, treats, toys, and veterinary-approved essentials from renowned local and international brands such as Hills, Montego, Dog’s Life, Eukanuba, Ultra Dog, Royal Canin, Rogz, Nandoe and Small Batches at supermarket prices.
To celebrate the opening, a R5 000 donation was made to the Domestic Animal Rescue Group (DARG) and 100 scratch card prizes were given away to customers.

The store is managed by Simamkele Qaba and trades Mondays to Saturdays from 08:00 to 17:00 and Sundays from 09:00 to15:00.
Petshop Science has been rapidly expanding since it first launched in 2021 and recently opened its 100th store in Glen Marais, Kempton Park to meet the growing needs of over 22 million pets in South Africa.
