West Point Processors national product recall

Shoprite Checkers is adhering to the national recall of 400g Pilchards in Tomato Sauce and 400g Pilchards in Chilli Sauce in relevant brands, instituted as a precaution by the NRCS today.

The affected batches of 400g Pilchards in Tomato Sauce have already been taken off shelf in Shoprite Group supermarkets following a recall notice received from the manufacturer West Point Processors on Friday. 

The 400g Pilchards in Chilli Sauce will now also be removed, but a block has been implemented at till points which stops the sale of affected products to consumers since Monday evening.

West Point Processors supplies various brands of canned pilchards to all retailers and food shops in the country and also packs the Shoprite Group's own labels.

We urge customers to check their food cupboards and return any recalled product to the store where it was purchased for a refund.
