Thirty regional winners in the 2009 Shoprite Checkers Championship Boerewors Competition were selected at the first regional rounds held on Saturday, 15 August. The second group of regional rounds will take place on Saturday, 22 August, at 27 selected locations countrywide.
An independent judging panel, selected and trained by the South African Chefs Association (SACA) will judge each regional round where prospective Boerewors Champions have to braai 1 kg of their own-recipe boerewors which will be judged raw and cooked.
The remaining regional rounds will take place 29 August at selected Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores country wide.
- Find a regional round close to you and watch the boerewors-fundis from the surrounding areas strut their stuff as they battle it out to determine whose boerewors is good enough to go through to the provincial round held in September!
