South Africans are invited to take hands with the Shoprite Group, who is utilising its extensive store network to support charitable organisations this festive season, to bring some joy to thousands of less fortunate people around the country.

From 11 December, customers can have their gifts wrapped at participating Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores in exchange for a small donation. All proceeds from this annual service are donated to beneficiary organisations who assist thousands of disadvantaged people in the communities where these stores operate.

Another way in which customers can #ActForChange is by supporting the Disaster Relief Fund with a R5 donation at any Shoprite or Checkers till point this festive season. All funds are donated to the Gift of the Givers Foundation, the largest relief organisation of African origin on the continent, to assist those affected by drought, fires or other disasters.

In partnership with Gift of the Givers, the Group is also distributing 3 500 food parcels to numerous vulnerable communities this festive season. Each food parcel can feed a family of four for 30 days.

As a business with heart, Shoprite is committed to supporting the local communities in which it operates, in order to help them grow and develop.

Here are some of the gift wrapping stations that have been set up:
