Staff from Checkers Johannesburg West visited Gateway Village Home for Disabled with Mr Jelly Tots to spread some Easter joy.

Countrywide young and old are treated to Easter egg hunts and parties as the Shoprite Group takes hands with local communities to host special events.

In the build up to Easter, caregivers, teachers and staff from local stores are on hand to hide chocolate eggs as excited children hunt for their hidden treats. These hunts are taking place at various crèches, preschools and orphanages including Khulani Children’s Shelter in Parkhill (Durban), Korekile Children’s Home in Simunye (Swaziland), Hlanganani Batho Bakopane in Cosmo City (Johannesburg), Magsigcini Children’s Home in Mfuleni (Cape Town) and many more.

In addition, hundreds of senior citizens are being treated to tasty hot cross buns, chocolate eggs and tea when the Group also hosts them at homes across the country.

The Group is committed to #ActForChange and have a proud tradition of caring for the local communities in which it operates.
