As the largest retailer in Africa, the Shoprite Group remains committed to supporting communities.

Since its establishment in 2016, the Act for Change Fund has enabled customers to contribute by donating R5 or more at till points in any Shoprite, Checkers or Usave nationally. These donations are used to support organisations assisting local communities affected by natural disasters and more recently, the COVID-19 pandemic.

All funds collected since mid-July 2021 will be donated to organisations assisting with relief efforts in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng, following recent unrest in these regions. Given the strong response by customers, the Shoprite Group has also pledged to donate a further R1 million rand to the Act for Change Fund.

We encourage organisations involved in relief efforts to complete the below application form to be considered as a beneficiary of the Act For Change Fund.
