About the Fund

The #ActForChange Fund launched in March 2016 following South Africans' requests to help make a difference in communites affected by natural disasters or facing other challenges. Shoppers can donate by adding any amount (from R5) to their purchase at a till point in any Group store in South Africa.

All donations are distributed to communities in need, in partnership with local, vetted NGOs across the country, including Gift of the Givers, SA Red Cross Society, Rise Against Hunger, Meals on Wheels, Operation Hunger and more.

The Fund’s aim is to help communities in crisis, so collections are directed to where the need is greatest.

In the 2024 financial year, the #ActForChange Fund received R412 864 in contributions through customer donations at till point.

Organisations wanting to apply for a donation or sponsorship can apply here.
