The 2016 Championship Boerewors Competition is warming up!
Hundreds of recipes were braaied nationwide to find South Africa’s Top 3 Boerewors recipes and although the competition was tough, in the end Jacobus Olivier Kritzinger from Joubertina in the Eastern Cape, Winter Reaobaka Letlhogile from Kimberley in the Northern Cape and Vukile Vincent Cele from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, came out victorious.
The Top 18 Round, where the Top 3 recipes were selected, took place in Cape Town on 23 July 2016. Here the three winners from each of the Champion Rounds, held on 2 and 9 July, battled it out for a spot in the Top 3.
The top 3 recipes will get voted on to see who will be announced as the Championship Boerewors winner for 2016 and to win a brand new Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD-6 Double Cab Raised Body Raider on 15 September 2016 .
The public will be able to vote (via USSD code) for their favourite boerewors recipe between 19 August and 9 September; they could also stand a chance to win R100 000 in prizes! They simply have to get down to their nearest Shoprite, Checkers or Checkers Hyper store, purchase the Championship Boerewors 3-pack, braai, try and then vote for their favourite to win!
