The Shoprite Group has promoted Zakhele Sibiya to general manager of HR, effective 1 January 2019.
Sibiya holds national diploma in HR management from Cape Technikon (now the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and a BTech degree in business administration from CPUT.
He joined Shoprite in 1998 as a Trainee Manager and was promoted to Regional HR Manager (Northern Division) in 2000. Sibiya was appointed Divisional HR Manager (Meat Markets) in 2008 and in May 2018 he was promoted to Manager: Industrial Relations and Special Projects at the Group’s home office.
