Pets are excellent companions and can even be therapeutic for people who suffer from depression and loneliness. Shoprite acknowledges the heart-warming role animals can play in humans’ lives and therefore supports National Animal Week which is taking place from 29 September to 6 October 2002.
Putting its full weight behind this worthy cause, Shoprite stores countrywide will run a Golden Trolley Campaign in collaboration with the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty against Animals (SPCA) for the entire month of October. During this period the Supermarket chain will urge its customers to donate pet food which will be used by the SPCA.
Shoprite staff will also wear blue ribbons during this campaign to pledge their full support for the welfare of animals.
