This Christmas you can help Checkers and Shoprite bring festive cheer to some of the many less fortunate children in South Africa by donating toys to the annual TOY 4 TOY campaign.
While most of us look forward to a cheerful Christmas with an abundance of gifts under beautifully decorated trees, many children in South Africa face a far bleaker Christmas. Checkers and Shoprite have therefore teamed up with The Nataniël Progress Project and BADISA for the TOY 4 TOY campaign that urges consumers to donate new or used toys to needy children. For every toy that consumers donate towards this campaign, Checkers and Shoprite will donate something too.
Through the public’s generous giving during the 2010 TOY 4 TOY campaign Checkers and Shoprite was able to distribute more than 15 000 toys amongst needy children across the country.
From Monday, 14 November until Friday, 9 December all South African citizens can make a contribution by buying or bringing toys and placing them in the Toy 4 Toy trolleys in front of all Shoprite, Checkers, and Checkers Hyper stores countrywide.
Customers who buy a new toy at a Checkers and Shoprite supermarket to donate to this project, also stand a chance of winning one of ten Shoprite or Checkers vouchers to the value of R5000! To qualify for the lucky draw customers must attach proof of payment of the new toy to the Toy 4 Toy entry form and place it in the Toy 4 Toy entry box in the store. The ten winners will be announced on 19 December 2011.
Let’s spread some Christmas cheer this festive season and bring a smile to the faces of needy children by assisting Ted and Rob, the official Toy 4 Toy campaign mascots, with the collection of more toys than ever this year.
