A passion for working with people coupled with an interest in science and biology is why Wanda Panya from Gompo Town, East London hopes to become pharmacist.
Panya was in need of financial assistance in order to further his post-school education, but thanks to a bursary from the Shoprite Group, he is now enrolled as a first year BPharm student at Rhodes University.

The Group’s bursary programme is linked to a work-back agreement, giving students the boost they need to kick-start their careers. Panya is looking forward to joining Medirite, the in-house pharmacy located in Shoprite and Checkers supermarkets, after completing his studies.
