Checkers opened the doors to its new store at the Fairlands Walk Shopping Centre in Johannesburg on Tuesday, 4 December 2018, creating 76 new jobs. The store’s total staff complement of 128 includes 89 women and 70 youth (between the ages of 18 and 35).
Checkers Fairlands offers customers a convenient shopping experience with 14 pay points and access to a number of in-store fresh food departments including a Meat Market, Fish Shop, Hot & Cold Foods Deli, Bakery, Fresh Fruit & Vegetables, Coffee Bar and Sushi Bar.
Customers can also save time by making use of the range of extensive services available at the Money Market counter including payment of municipal or service accounts, buying national lottery, bus, airline or Computicket event tickets, and much more.
The store will be managed by experienced Branch Manager, Aubrey Kotzee, who joined the Shoprite Group in 2008.
The store’s trading hours are 08:00 - 20:00 from Mondays to Sundays.
